The School

Scuola Internazionale di Comics in Florence is an historic educational institution in visual arts and new media. For years, it has supported students and professionals in developing technical and design skills through a practical, work-oriented teaching approach based on instructors direct experience. Those who teach at Comics are, first and foremost, professionals active in their field: illustrators, cartoonists, designers, and creatives who bring to the classroom—physical or virtual— methods, needs, and real-world dynamics of the professional world.

Catalogue

We created our Online courses to make this method accessible even remotely.

Lessons are live, to encourage direct interaction with instructors, and are available for recording to allow everyone to follow along at their own pace.

The catalog covers areas from illustration to comics, from design to storytelling, and includes both technical courses on using software from scratch and on applied thematic design techniques, with programs designed to acquire practical tools, working methods, and professional awareness.

A certificate of participation is issued at the end of the course.
